Are we ready for spring? Mentally we’ve been prepared for this season for a couple of months, but physically – well, not so much. Since it’s already March, it’s high time we started taking care of our bodies again, since spring is the introduction to summer, when we have to get our best body game on. And what better time to start than now?
The beginning of spring is the ideal time for this, as this way you will have plenty of time to fix all the things that need to be fixed and look gorgeous when summer comes knocking at our door. However, maybe everything in your head is hectic and you simply don’t know where to start. Let us help you with that. Take a look at the most important things that you need to do in order to prepare your body for the upcoming season:
Get that fitness up and running
First and foremost – exercise. Even though you might feel lazy (damn you, winter, for making us feel this way!), it is necessary to start hitting the gym or working out in your home as soon as possible. One of the best ways to make yourself break some sweat is by getting a gym membership card – now that you paid for it, you simply have to go! It only takes a couple of trainings before you start feeling great at the gym, and you will see the results in a blink of an eye.
Not only will you be losing those couple of pounds that you gained during Christmas, New Year and Valentine’s Day, you’ll also build up your stamina which you will definitely need during spring and summer (as it will involve a lot of activities like walking and perhaps surfing).
Mind your diet
Exercising at the gym, running or doing Pilates won’t do if you’re going to eat unhealthily, will it? What is important is to cut down on all the junk food that you’ve been eating and start buying fresh fruit and vegetables from the green market.
Make yourself freshly squeezed lemon juice every morning in order to burn fat cells, and prepare a home-cooked meal, as this is one of the healthiest lunches out there. It is said that you make your abs in the kitchen, not the gym. Moreover, drink plenty of water in order to stay hydrated. You should drink around 2 litres a day, so, yes, it will involve going to the restroom quite often, but you’ll see the results very quickly.
Get your skin in perfect state
Furthermore, you have to pay extra attention to your skin. No, we’re not talking about beauty products (yet), but the general state of your skin. One of the best ways to start your summer is by eliminating all the unnecessary body hair that you might have.
Australian girls, for example, spend at least a half of their year on beaches, so they very often opt for laser hair removal in Sydney, and this is something that you could do as well. It will definitely save you a lot of time later on and make your life easier. Moreover, if you have any problems with blackheads or zits, now’s the time to visit your dermatologist and see what you can do about them, as you want perfect skin for summer.
Do a beauty detox
In order to do a complete reboot of your skin and make it extra fresh for summer, it would be excellent if you could do a beauty detox. This means using only organic products for a certain period of time, so that your body gets rid of all the small toxins that it accumulated during the years of using different beauty products.
You should also try to minimize your beauty corner and use only the essentials during spring. One of the best things that you could use instead of body lotion, for example, is rosehip oil, which is also Miranda Kerr’s best-selling skincare product. It definitely became a must-have for all Aussies (OK, now we know why Australian girls are some of the most beautiful ones on the planet).
