How to Achieve the “No Makeup” Makeup Look

I don’t know about you, but while I love having a full face of makeup, sometimes I need to let my face breathe. Whether I’m going to class or running errands my “no makeup” makeup routine keeps me looking natural, but with a little extra pizzazz.
To start this routine, I slather my face in moisturizer (I use Clinique’s dramatically different moisturizer). Your makeup will go on so much better if your face is plump and moisturized. You can also put on a primer, but I usually skip it on these days.
The next step is to use IT Cosmetics anti-aging armour with SPF 50+. It’s basically a tinted SPF and it is lifechanging. Ever since I bought this product, I’ve stopped using foundation—including the days I’m going for a full-out, dramatic makeup look.
With my base done, I move on to a light eyeshadow look. I use a Charlotte Tilbury palette that’s no longer for sale (it was limited edition), but the exact shade doesn’t matter. First, just lightly brush on a matte cream/taupe shade all over the lid. Next, I use a shimmery light gray and blend it into my crease. That’s it, you’re done.
After my eyeshadow is applied, I like to put on concealer. I have terrible under eye circles (they’re dark and puffy), so if this doesn’t apply to you it’s one more step to skip! But, I use IT Cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer under my eyes (and on the occasional zit) and blend it in with a beauty blender.
Now for the final few steps. Because this look is so light on the eyes, I like my mascara to really stand out and make my eyes pop. I curl my eyelashes, swipe on a lash primer (Lancôme’s CILS lash booster), and finish with a few coats of Too Faced’s better than sex mascara. To finish the look, I dust bronzer along my cheekbones, at my forehead, and under my chin. And that’s it!
This really is a super simple makeup look. It usually takes me under 10 minutes to complete. I think I look fresh and awake, but still natural, which is perfect for an everyday routine. Also, if you feel like doing a little something extra, I sometimes apply my Ardell magnetic lashes to really make my eyelashes stand out. They’re so easy to apply once you get the hang of it and I barely feel them all day long. But, whether you are feeling extra ambitious with the lashes or not, this makeup routine will have you looking like a natural beauty in no time at all!
